Zizwe Opencast Mining is currently looking for six (6) motivated individuals to join their team as Drill Rig Assistants at Modikwa. These are fixed-term positions, offering a great opportunity for those with experience in the drilling department to contribute to a major mining operation.
Role Overview
The Drill Rig Assistant is a hands-on role focused on supporting drilling operations while maintaining the highest safety and housekeeping standards. You will work closely with operators and superiors to ensure that the drilling area is managed efficiently and according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Key Requirements
To be considered for one of these six positions, you must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Grade 10.
- Communication: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a drilling department.
- Medical: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical assessment.
General Duties
- Perform all tasks of a drilling assistant as per SOP/STP.
- Adhere strictly to all safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure the drilling area is properly barricaded at all times.
- Assist the operator with the plugging of all drilled holes.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards across the site.
- Report and rectify any process deficiencies in the area.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by your Superior.
