Requirements:

• Bachelor of Law/Legal Degree (NQF Level 7) or equivalent.
• Admission as an Attorney or Advocate.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a middle or senior managerial level.
• Pre-requisite experience in Education Law.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
• Completion of the SMS Pre-entry programme (Nyukela) is required before appointment.

Duties:

• Manage the Directorate of Legal Services and provide legal advice to the Department.
• Provide litigation support to the National and Provincial Education Departments.
• Manage court cases on behalf of the Minister and Director-General.
• Draft and negotiate terms for national and international agreements.
